February journal “unboxing”

This is the “unboxing” of the January mailer with the February journal, “Joyful endings in Psalms”!

The Psalms are unlike any other book in the Bible. They are a collections of prayers of all kinds, crying out to God in the good and the bad times.

Most of them are from the David, someone we know really well from other parts of the Bible so we can understand it all better as a whole! And from what we know of his life, he had several terrible moments. He was promised the kingdom but was first hunted by the current king (Saul) for years. Even when he finally was king, life didn’t stop being hard for him in different ways.

But throughout it all, David (and the other psalmists) always came back to God.

These psalms mirror their hearts, wrenching in pain from pain, injustice, sin, and more. Yet these psalms all end with the psalmists’ hearts brought closer to peace – because they’re brought closer to God. They remember his goodness, his security, and his love. So we want our hearts to do the same: to draw near to God and to “leave” joyful.

This is what our everseeking subscribers are studying in February 2026! So let’s take a closer look at everything in the study and the mailer…

The journal

The psalms are real, raw, and a reflection of the struggles and joys of our lives.

How many times have we come before God, our heart in agony, whispering a prayer that’s a jumble of words?

And how many more times in the future will we be blindsided by what life brings us and we again fall to our knees, asking for God’s presence?

This life isn’t meant to be luxurious and laid-back.

But God gives us a joyful ending.

Main study pages in “Joyful endings in Psalms”

We know that no matter what comes our way, we can’t lose that joy that lasts into eternity.

The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). There is no circumstance we’re going through here on earth that God can’t enter. He comes into the thick of what we’re dealing with and takes care of us, even if the circumstances can’t change.

His presence changes us over the circumstances.

Because he is the joyful ending.

Our hope is in him. Our joy is in him. We look to a life that is much more full than the temporary one here (Hebrews 11:10). He lets us have life, abundantly (John 10:10).

He took the struggles on himself to give us the joyful ending. And this is a snapshot of what these psalms show...

Journaling through a main study page in “Joyful endings in Psalms”

Since we’re looking at different psalms that have joyful endings, it’s not surprising that most them don’t start very full of joy (especially the first few). It’s nothing new for us - at one time or another, we feel just like the psalmist.

So the first half of the page is the struggle. Note what is happening and how this connects in your life and/or in Scripture. But that’s not the end of the story! See how God gives us a joyful ending, no matter what comes. Write out the verse(s) noted and circle, underline, or highlight what stands out! (And enjoy the note of encouragement at the end of the page).

There are also some psalms we’ll look at that have so much to share that we’ll take two days/pages to think on it, which will then have the struggle on the first (left) page and the joyful ending on the second (right) page.

Optional study pages in “Joyful endings in Psalms”

Studying through this takes us through the main 20 days of study. As in every everseeking journal, the “main study” can be done in 20 days because we all have those moments where we get behind, so this gives a little room.

But if you’re studying every day and get to day 20 and you still have 10 more days in the month, there are 10 extra pages of the journal (called “optional pages”) that take a deeper look at what we already studied.

In this journal… Now it’s your turn! With 150 psalms, there are more “joyful-ending psalms” that we didn’t get to study in the main study, so we do so here. But these study pages are left more open-ended to allow you to find the verse(s) that talk about the struggles and then to find the verse(s) with the joyful ending! (There is no exact right answer. Just enjoy reading the portions of God’s Word, understanding it, and writing about it!)

So whether you complete the main study with the 20 pages or the main 20 + the optional 10, you have succeeded in spending the month studying the Word of God!

The washi tape

As always, every everseeking journal comes with it’s set of washi tape: solid and patterned!

This month’s washi tape matches the pink patterned theme for this month and a similar solid color washi tape! We use these for highlighting certain thoughts, creating tabs throughout the journal, decorating, adding extra notes (scrapbooking style), color coding, and more! For more details, check out our “How to use washi tape for Bible journaling” blog at https://www.evergreencypress.com/blog/how-to-use-washi-tape-for-bible-journaling.

Plastic pouch + paper clips

Added to our February journal is a little plastic pouch to hold a set of fun paperclips! The handful of paperclips match our study (pink, white, and some gold) and the little pouch keeps them together so you can easily add it to your journaling bag without all the paperclips getting lost!

Mini-valentine/encouragement card set

This was too fun not to add to this February journal and extras — a set of mini valentines! Whether they are used for Valentine’s or simply for encouraging others, these are meant to bring a smile to someone’s face with a simple but powerful message of God’s love and care!

Homeschool edition

We also have everseeking for homeschool!

The homeschool edition sends out the same journal of the month for the girl to study through. With the 20 days of the main study, she gets to also go through one page a day for each weekday for the 4 weeks of the month.

The difference with the homeschool edition is that instead of the extras, the girl receives three pages…

  1. Pacing guide: this takes the 20 days and schedules them in the specific month of study (in this case, February 2026). Here, she can check off each day as she completes it.

  2. Discussion questions: after the girl has completed her study page for the day, there is an extra discussion question that matches (for example, discussion question number 4 goes with day 04 of the study). This is intended to help the girl explain what she has studied and for the teacher and girl to further discuss what the study of God’s Word means in her life.

  3. Knowing Scripture/ end-of-month / encouragement: every month, the knowing Scripture section remains the same, but reminds the girl to keep a part of the study deep on her heart. She selects her theme verse for the study and writes it on the pacing guide to look at daily and then talk about it with the teacher throughout the month. The end of month section has an activity or assignment that helps the girl think through the study as a whole from a specific perspective as a review. And finally, the encouragement is for the teacher, to bolster her as she guides the girl in her care in God’s Word — making an eternal difference in her life!

And that’s a wrap!

And that’s a wrap for the February journal that came in the January mailer! We loved putting this one together for our subscribers.

If you are an everseeker, we would love to hear your feedback on this journal and mailer, whether on our social media posts or through email.

And if you aren’t a subscriber, we have a spot saved for you for the next available mailer, with the next journal and extras! This is only available for those who subscribe by the first of the month — so don’t miss out!

Every month is new and exclusive as a whole, so join us in being everseeking of God with consistent Bible study at evergreencypress.com/everseeking!
