Evergreen Cypress is all about nurturing teen girls, preteen girls (and women!) to find a closer relationship with God, which comes by spending beautiful time in his Word.

Whether you are younger or more mature in your faith, and whether you are weary or full of encouragement, we invite you to join us as we seek to daily be at home with the Bible and at home with God.

Everseeking is a subscription that delivers a new Bible study journal (with matching extras) to your doorstep every month. We want to be women who seek God first (Matthew 6:33) and always (Psalm 27:4). And this encouragement for us to do just that!

FAQs

  • An exclusive newly-themed 30-day Bible study journal + cute extras to match (ex: washi tape, journaling items)!

  • Everseeking mailers are sent out around the 15th of the month. This is so you can have the next month’s journal ready to go! Your card will be charged every month on the same day that you initially subscribe so you can automatically get the next one!

  • The journal has a different design and study theme every month but the same format: 20 days of the main study and 10 optional days of deeper study. This is to give you time to catch up if you get behind in the month, but encouraging being in God’s Word daily as the ultimate goal. Every month is a new and fresh start!

Sharing the Truth

It doesn’t take much. When I was a teen girl in the church, there were those who taught me and mentored me. Their encouragement in God meant everything— but it wouldn’t have been true love if they didn’t share in truth. And to share the truth, they had to know it— deeply.

That is our goal at Evergreen: for us as women to truly know God’s Word and to then share it with other and younger women who need him as much as we do.

We started this at our own home congregation, West Side Church of Christ, and have been amazed at what God has done. We are honored to be his hands and feet. And it is our prayer that you will, too. For his glory and so that all may know him, which is eternal life (John 17:3).

Purpose

“O Ephraim, what have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like an evergreen cypress; from me comes your fruit.” Hosea 14:8

Being with God is like nothing else we could ever know. He is what our soul desires. He has nothing to do with empty promises of idols (why do we hold to them?) but instead he gives us life — abundantly (John 10:10).

God alone answers us and cares for us. He is our evergreen cypress. And when we spend time with him, we are home.

What is a LIGHT journal? It’s a journal that guides you to study through a specific book of the Bible! (✨FAQs below!) Each journal has a similar format but each unique to the book of study, with questions, connections, notes, and other journaling prompts! Current selection (with more to come): Ephesians, Luke, 1 Peter, Psalms (in two parts), Hebrews, and John (in two parts) Journal through a LIGHT journal and Live In God’s Hope & Truth! ✨ How long does it take to work through a journal? About 18 weeks to 6 months (if completing a spread per weekday). ✨ What’s a spread? Two pages when the journal is opened, left and right side, that together go through a few verses of the book of study. ✨ Can I study it in a shorter amount of time? Yes! Enjoy setting your own pace, however long or short! ✨ Is this meant for individual study or group study? Either or both! We started using it in group study where each girl/woman would study a section and then get together to discuss it every so often! ✨ How can I use this in homeschooling? We love using these journals for homeschooling! Since completing one spread per weekday finishes the journal in roughly about 18 weeks, it’s perfect for studying through a book in the fall and spring! ✨ Are these journals made for teen girls or women? They are made for both. The journals are just guides through Scripture with occasional notes that apply to girls and women alike! ✨ Are there discounts for bulk orders? Yes! This is the “unboxing” of the March mailer with the April journal, “Amidst the Storms”!

When it comes to physical storms, some of us enjoy the rain and others of us can’t wait for it to be over. But when it comes to figurative storms, we’re all in the same boat, so to speak.

It’s a time of uncertainty, confusion, doubt, or complete overwhelm. And it can be hard to know how to navigate any of it, much less how to keep ourselves from panicking. If we rely on ourselves, we know it’s hopeless... but we have a navigator in the storm who surpasses our greatest need.

He is the lighthouse on whom we can keep our gaze and know that he is holding us steady to bring us ashore. Christ is the sure and steadfast anchor of our soul, having gone before us (Hebrews 6:19-20) so he could be with us always. The storm may not stop for awhile, but we know who is in the boat with us. We know the One who walks on water. And we know the One who holds us and quiets our souls.

So here’s the reminder that in any and every storm, he truly is God -- over the storm and over us...
