Evergreen Cypress is all about nurturing teen girls, preteen girls (and women!) to find a closer relationship with God, which comes by spending beautiful time in his Word.

Whether you are younger or more mature in your faith, and whether you are weary or full of encouragement, we invite you to join us as we seek to daily be at home with the Bible and at home with God.

Purpose

“O Ephraim, what have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like an evergreen cypress; from me comes your fruit.” Hosea 14:8

Being with God is like nothing else we could ever know. He is what our soul desires. He has nothing to do with empty promises of idols (why do we hold to them?) but instead he gives us life — abundantly (John 10:10).

God alone answers us and cares for us. He is our evergreen cypress. And when we spend time with him, we are home.

Journals

LIGHT journals are for teen girls and women as a note-taking guide through a selected book of the Bible. They are customized to look at a specific set of verses at a time, to answer questions related to them, and to find connection with other parts of the Bible.

Radiant journals are for preteen girls (and up) that go through a chapter of a book of the Bible. They are designed to take one concept at a time, understand what it means, and find connection with other parts of the Bible.

Studies

Personal study - You’re sitting down, you have your Bible open and you even have a guide (like a LIGHT journal!) and you’re ready to study God’s Word…but you still feel stuck. There are a lot of challenges! Either we can’t stay consistent, or we don’t really understand it, or we don’t know how it applies to our lives. And sometimes, we just need someone to go through it with us. If so, this is for you!

Teacher study - If you are a Christian woman who wants to teach the Bible to a ladies’ class, women’s small group, or teen girls’ get-together, this is also for you! With everything that comes in the personal study, the teacher version is a tried-and-true practical way to help you share the beautiful Word of God through a specific book of the Bible.

About

It doesn’t take much. When I was a teen girl in the church, there were those who taught me and mentored me. Their encouragement in God meant everything— but it wouldn’t have been true love if they didn’t share in truth. And to share the truth, they had to know it— deeply.

That is our goal at Evergreen: for us as women to truly know God’s Word and to then share it with other and younger women who need him as much as we do.

We started this at our own home congregation, West Side Church of Christ, and have been amazed at what God has done. We are honored to be his hands and feet. And it is our prayer that you will, too. For his glory and so that all may know him, which is eternal life (John 17:3).

This is the “unboxing” of the March mailer with the April journal, “Amidst the Storms”!

When it comes to physical storms, some of us enjoy the rain and others of us can’t wait for it to be over. But when it comes to figurative storms, we’re all in the same boat, so to speak.

It’s a time of uncertainty, confusion, doubt, or complete overwhelm. And it can be hard to know how to navigate any of it, much less how to keep ourselves from panicking. If we rely on ourselves, we know it’s hopeless... but we have a navigator in the storm who surpasses our greatest need.

He is the lighthouse on whom we can keep our gaze and know that he is holding us steady to bring us ashore. Christ is the sure and steadfast anchor of our soul, having gone before us (Hebrews 6:19-20) so he could be with us always. The storm may not stop for awhile, but we know who is in the boat with us. We know the One who walks on water. And we know the One who holds us and quiets our souls.

So here’s the reminder that in any and every storm, he truly is God -- over the storm and over us...
