June journal “unboxing”
This is the “unboxing” of the May mailer with the June journal, “Traveling with Jesus”!
There comes a time in every Christian’s life when we wish we could have physically walked with Jesus - that we could have listened to his voice and seen him perform miracles. But even thousands of years later, God lets us get as close as possible. He gives us four accounts of Jesus’s time on earth! His presence is no less with us today than it was with the disciples then.
God is in the midst of his city, his people. God has always been with his people. And because he is, we will not fall. We will not stumble or lose the most precious thing in life: our relationship with God.
So even if we do not get to physically walk with Jesus, we have something better: God himself, his Spirit, within us. We never have to be separated from Jesus. We never have to worry about what life would be like without him. He was in the midst of them then, and he is in the midst of us now.
So let’s travel with Jesus, knowing this is our journey now as much as it was for the first followers of Jesus all those years ago...
This is what our everseeking subscribers are studying in June 2025! So let’s take a closer look at everything in the study and the mailer…
The journal
Jesus traveled - a lot.
It’s why he said he came to earth: “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.” (Luke 4:43)
And we get to go along for the journey! The behind-the-scenes of traveling with Jesus is there for us to see.
He went to the people, to those who were sheep without a shepherd (Matthew 9:36).
He taught them, healed them, comforted them, and fed them physically and spiritually.
And then his journey led him to Jerusalem, where he would then die for them - and for us.
So we look at where Jesus journeyed, one stop at a time, and we see through the eyes of his disciples to see what it was like to follow him.
And through the journey, we get a snapshot of what it means to truly follow Jesus: giving up self, focusing on the kingdom, and being with Jesus every step of the way.
In this journal, we are joining Jesus as he travels and seeing the journey from the perspective of the disciples! Each day we study is a different destination, but more importantly, each part of the journey is a snapshot of what it means to truly follow Christ.
To get a better understanding of the timeline of the journey, we are mostly staying in the book of Mark, looking at what happened along each stop. Each page also has a space for us to remember what happened before and a space to see what’s coming to put it all in context.
Then at the bottom of the page is a “travel note” with a verse that helps us understand what life looks like when we walk with the Messiah and a note to think through it together!
Studying through this takes us through the main 20 days of study. As in every everseeking journal, the “main study” can be done in 20 days because we all have those moments where we get behind, so this gives a little room.
But if you’re studying every day and get to day 20 and you still have 10 more days in the month, there are 10 extra pages of the journal (called “optional pages”) that take a deeper look at what we already studied.
So whether you complete the main study with the 20 pages or the main 20 + the optional 10, you have succeeded in spending the month studying the Word of God!
The washi tape
As always, every everseeking journal comes with it’s set of washi tape: solid and patterned!
This month’s washi tape is a fun geometric-like pattern and a similar solid color washi tape! We use these for highlighting certain thoughts, creating tabs throughout the journal, decorating, adding extra notes (scrapbooking style), color coding, and more! For more details, check out our “How to use washi tape for Bible journaling” blog at https://www.evergreencypress.com/blog/how-to-use-washi-tape-for-bible-journaling.
Canvas Psalm 46:5 keychain by Faithworks
The next “extra” is a canvas verse keychain.
Although we don’t get to physically follow Jesus, he is still with us every step of our lives — more so than if he hadn’t left and send another Counselor, the Spirit, to dwell within us (John 14:16).
This keychain is a simple but hopefully powerful reminder that God is with us. He is with his people. And we have the honor to follow him to the end (and the beautiful gospels, his Word, that encourages us)!
For passport for 2025 - June sticker
And for those who joined our Everseeking Resolution for 2025 (those subscribed by December 1, 2024), we added the matching sticker that goes inside our 2025 everseeking passport (that was sent earlier)! We look forward to hearing your favorite verse, a takeaway and notes.
It’s our encouragement to stay strong in being everseeking of God in 2025 — our everseeking resolution!
Homeschool edition
We also have everseeking for homeschool!
The homeschool edition sends out the same journal of the month for the girl to study through. With the 20 days of the main study, she gets to also go through one page a day for each weekday for the 4 weeks of the month.
The difference with the homeschool edition is that instead of the extras, the girl receives three pages…
Pacing guide: this takes the 20 days and schedules them in the specific month of study (in this case, May 2025). Here, she can check off each day as she completes it.
Discussion questions: after the girl has completed her study page for the day, there is an extra discussion question that matches (for example, discussion question number 4 goes with day 04 of the study). This is intended to help the girl explain what she has studied and for the teacher and girl to further discuss what the study of God’s Word means in her life.
Knowing Scripture/ end-of-month / encouragement: every month, the knowing Scripture section remains the same, but reminds the girl to keep a part of the study deep on her heart. She selects her theme verse for the study and writes it on the pacing guide to look at daily and then talk about it with the teacher throughout the month. The end of month section has an activity or assignment that helps the girl think through the study as a whole from a specific perspective as a review. And finally, the encouragement is for the teacher, to bolster her as she guides the girl in her care in God’s Word — making an eternal difference in her life!
