September journal “unboxing”
This is the “unboxing” of the August mailer with the September journal, “Yet I will: waiting with God”!
Waiting on God means trusting Him no matter what comes. And that can be really hard. When things are going wonderfully well, it can be easy to trust him - or instead, we feel like we have all the good things of our own merit and we stop listening and waiting on Him.
When things are really hard, it can be easy to lean on God and acknowledge we’re helpless - or instead, we can be frustrated that God isn’t doing what we want him to and we stop waiting on Him. Satan will always try to play devil’s advocate on why we shouldn’t wait on God.
But the truth is, there is no one else worth trusting – not even ourselves. And amazingly, we don’t just wait on God, we wait with him. It’s not a distant relationship where we watch God from afar constantly questioning Him. We are able to wait WITH God. Because God waits. He has waited on us, patiently, to come to Him. And until the end of time, He continues to wait for all of His children. So we see what it means to wait with God...
This is what our everseeking subscribers are studying in August 2025! So let’s take a closer look at everything in the study and the mailer…
The journal
It’s not easy to tell God, “Yet I will,” in any circumstance as we wait for him. For most of us, waiting is the last thing we want to do.
Because waiting is outside of our control and most times outside of our timeline.
We wait knowing when our waiting will end and not knowing when it will end.
We wait patiently, impatiently, understanding, not understanding, for a short period of time, for a really long period of time...
...and it can get exhausting.
Because waiting is an active thing.
But, when we take a step back and really look, there is One who has waited and will wait for longer than we can fathom. And we say, “Yet I will...” as we stay true to our God in our waiting.
God is patient.
He waits for the most important thing. He gives us time to come back to him. He gives us every chance to accept the gift of Christ. He waits for every soul.
So as we see what it means to wait and proclaim faithfulness to our God, we realize we are in the best place we can be - with the One who would wait as long as it takes for us.
There are many times when we feel like we are in a holding pattern. Life hasn’t gone the way we expected it to and we are trying to wait on God and stay true to Him.
The Bible is full of people who were in the exact same situation. And one of the most beautiful passages that shows what it looks like when we do wait/trust in God is in Habakkuk 3 (which is our first day of study!) that declares even if all these things happen, “Yet I will” remain faithful.
So in our study, each spread (left and right page) is a different situation of how we say, “Yet I will” as we wait with God. The left page looks at people in the Bible who stayed true, with questions to help us think through the passage, a connecting verse question, and a note of encouragement. Then the right page looks at what the Bible says more specifically about waiting, with questions (including a connect question to think through both pages together), a note of encouragement, and a space for you to similarly declare “Yet I will” to God in your own words.
Studying through this takes us through the main 20 days of study. As in every everseeking journal, the “main study” can be done in 20 days because we all have those moments where we get behind, so this gives a little room.
But if you’re studying every day and get to day 20 and you still have 10 more days in the month, there are 10 extra pages of the journal (called “optional pages”) that take a deeper look at what we already studied.
In this journal… There are so many different stories and passages about waiting that we get to study them some more in the optional pages as well! These are more open ended for you to think through as you talk to God about it.
So whether you complete the main study with the 20 pages or the main 20 + the optional 10, you have succeeded in spending the month studying the Word of God!
The washi tape
As always, every everseeking journal comes with it’s set of washi tape: solid and patterned!
This month’s washi tape matches the colors in our September journal and a similar solid color washi tape! We use these for highlighting certain thoughts, creating tabs throughout the journal, decorating, adding extra notes (scrapbooking style), color coding, and more! For more details, check out our “How to use washi tape for Bible journaling” blog at https://www.evergreencypress.com/blog/how-to-use-washi-tape-for-bible-journaling.
Highlighter + pen duo
The next “extra” is a pen and highlighter duo!
We love studying the Bible with a good pen and highlighter. It makes it much easier to understand God’s Word when we write it out and make notes to help write it on our heart, not just our journals!
Mini sticky notes
The next “extra” is a mini sticky note! Sometimes, we have a little more to write about but run out of room, on some pages more than others. So these little sticky notes give a little bit more space (and color) to our journaling pages!
BONUS: Bible verse journaling pouch
And for our special everseeking launch, we added a bonus — a Bible verse journaling pouch! This is one of our favorite things to share. It makes journaling so much easier when we’re able to put all of our journaling items in one place and make it easy to carry around with us wherever we go!
Additionally, we loved the Bible verse that reminds and encourages us as we study!
For passport for 2025 - September sticker
And finally for those who joined our Everseeking Resolution for 2025 (those subscribed by December 1, 2024), we added the matching sticker that goes inside our 2025 everseeking passport (that was sent earlier)! We look forward to hearing your favorite verse, a takeaway and notes.
It’s our encouragement to stay strong in being everseeking of God in 2025 — our everseeking resolution!
Homeschool edition
We also have everseeking for homeschool!
The homeschool edition sends out the same journal of the month for the girl to study through. With the 20 days of the main study, she gets to also go through one page a day for each weekday for the 4 weeks of the month.
The difference with the homeschool edition is that instead of the extras, the girl receives three pages…
Pacing guide: this takes the 20 days and schedules them in the specific month of study (in this case, July 2025). Here, she can check off each day as she completes it.
Discussion questions: after the girl has completed her study page for the day, there is an extra discussion question that matches (for example, discussion question number 4 goes with day 04 of the study). This is intended to help the girl explain what she has studied and for the teacher and girl to further discuss what the study of God’s Word means in her life.
Knowing Scripture/ end-of-month / encouragement: every month, the knowing Scripture section remains the same, but reminds the girl to keep a part of the study deep on her heart. She selects her theme verse for the study and writes it on the pacing guide to look at daily and then talk about it with the teacher throughout the month. The end of month section has an activity or assignment that helps the girl think through the study as a whole from a specific perspective as a review. And finally, the encouragement is for the teacher, to bolster her as she guides the girl in her care in God’s Word — making an eternal difference in her life!
And that’s a wrap!
