September journal “unboxing”

A look at what’s in the August mailer (everything for the September study)

This is the “unboxing” of the August mailer with the September journal, “Lovingkindness!

There are several themes that run throughout the Bible. But there is one that is the strongest of all. There are times when it’s obvious and times when it’s harder to tell. But the lovingkindness of our God is everywhere in Scripture.

No matter what we study, God is love and his actions towards us show that constantly. He goes above and beyond every time. He does the difficult things that only his love can do. He does it for our good and at the cost of sacrifice too great for us to understand. He loved us before he knit us together and loves us every day we live and breathe.

It’s an extraordinary thing to be this loved.

Other loves will give us a glimpse, but no one will ever be able to outlove God. And so as we watch this tender theme unfold through the Old and New Testament, we can’t help but echo the repeated phrase in Psalm 136, “Give thanks to the Lord... for his steadfast love endures forever.”

This is what our everseeking subscribers are studying in September 2026! So let’s take a closer look at everything in the study and the mailer…

The journal

Earth has never been without God’s “hesed,” his lovingkindness.

He planned it from the beginning and has let nothing come in his way of giving it to us - even and especially our sin.

His lovingkindness has been tested over and over again. It’s been stretched far beyond a human breaking point and has continued in the worst circumstances.

But it has never reached a limit. And even in moments when we think we or others are too far gone to love, God’s love remains.

It is steadfast love. It is goodness and faithfulness and mercy. It is a love that gives willingly and selflessly. God’s love comes after us and never makes us feel as though we are unworthy, even though we know we are. He makes us worthy.

And when we recognize that love, it fills us so that we are overflowing. Our hearts realize this is the balm we need to sustain our hearts in every moment.

His love is what legends attempt to portray, to explain the magnitude of a love beyond reason, one that gives redemption and peace, that defies the odds and conquers all obstacles.

My friend, this love is ours.

Our God’s lovingkindness is a sure thing in our lives, even when nothing else may be. And when we treasure it and share it, we take part in the greatest love story ever known.

It’s not the world’s paltry version of love. This is God’s unrelenting lovingkindness.

Journaling through a main study page in August 2026 journal, “Fear Him, fear not”

There is a word in Hebrew ,“hesed,” which means love, a love usually attributed to God and so deep that it’s hard to describe. It’s abundant and unconditional, translated in different versions (usually) as “steadfast love” (ESV), “mercy” (KJV), “lovingkindness” (NASB) and in various other ways (NIV etc).

God shows up over and over again in Scripture with this love that seems too good to be true - but it is, and we want to know it as deeply as we can.

So on the odd days we look at God’s lovingkindness in the Old Testament by thinking through the passage, seeing the word “hesed” translated in different versions, and following/noting how God showed love to his people in any and all situations as the story of the Old Testament unfolded. The timeline shows where we are in the story.

Then on the even days we’ll look at God’s lovingkindness continued and proven to us in the New Testament, whether it uses the word love or not - the New Testament is in Greek, usually “agape” (love) or “eleos” (mercy). We’ll think through the passage, note how he is the same loving God, and pen a prayer to the God who has lavished his love on us as humandkind, and us as individuals.

Studying through this takes us through the main 20 days of study. As in every everseeking journal, the “main study” can be done in 20 days because we all have those moments where we get behind, so this gives a little room.

But if you’re studying every day and get to day 20 and you still have 10 more days in the month, there are 10 extra pages of the journal (called “optional pages”) that take a deeper look at what we already studied.

In this journal… In Titus 3:4, it says, “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us...” In this, we see the two words “loving” and “kindness” but separated as two thoughts - so in these pages, we’ll look at this from a different perspective with each word broken up! Write or note the verse for each page, “loving” on the left and “kindness” on the right!

So whether you complete the main study with the 20 pages or the main 20 + the optional 10, you have succeeded in spending the month studying the Word of God!

The washi tape

As always, every everseeking journal comes with it’s set of washi tape: solid and patterned!

This month’s washi tape matches the wildflower theme this month and a similar solid color washi tape! We use these for highlighting certain thoughts, creating tabs throughout the journal, decorating, adding extra notes (scrapbooking style), color coding, and more! For more details, check out our “How to use washi tape for Bible journaling” blog at https://www.evergreencypress.com/blog/how-to-use-washi-tape-for-bible-journaling.

Three wildflower sticker sheets

Extras with the August journal

For this month, we loved including wildflower sticker sheets!

It’s perfect to decorate the inside of our wildflower-themed journal, each page getting a different wildflower sticker! And as a plus, the stickers have a clear background which let them easily integrate into the journal!
