What’s in the July mailer
This is the “unboxing” of the July mailer with the August journal, “Fear Him, fear not”!
For some of us, when we first hear the phrase “fear God,” we have a childlike view of it, thinking God to be this fearsome dictator of wrath who commands us to follow the rules or else.
But it’s a complete distortion of something incredible. Because the fear of God is a reverent awe of the Creator of the universe, acknowledging that he is God above all others and that he alone deserves our complete worship.
He is able to create the world and flood it, to confuse with languages and unite new believers in spite of it, to smite armies and yet conquer with a stone. Yes, he is a God of wrath against evil.
But if we are in Christ, his wrath is turned from us. Because he is also the God who comforts us over and over again not to fear. He is the one who loved us so much, he sent his Son as a sacrifice. And coming from the King of kings, it means everything.
We fear Him. And then we fear not.
This is what our everseeking subscribers are studying in August 2026! So let’s take a closer look at everything in the study and the mailer…
The journal
One of the most repeated phrases in all of the Bible is “Do not fear.” God is aware of what life brings. And he never failed to let us know that we don’t need to fear.
But it’s always in the context of fearing God.
For if we fail to recognize and honor God, there is much to fear.
It means we are choosing to rely on ourselves, to be our own protector against the temptations and trouble that will come our way.
It won’t last long before we’re beaten.
But the fear of God isn’t unhealthy terror. It brings everything into alignment.

Fear is the recognition of something’s power over us - but while one type of fear makes us be afraid of evil, the other fear brings us indescribable peace.
Because fear of God is the only healthy fear there is.
We know we’re safe when we submit to the fear of God. Not only is he the most good, he is the authority above all. If he were one without the other, there may be cause to fear other things. But thankfully, we never have to worry about that.
Because when when we fear God, there is no reason to fear anything else.
He is Lord. He is Protector. We fear Him. And then we fear not.

They are two very different statements that seem to be contradictory.
The fear of God = reverent awe and respect above all else
Fear of other things = overwhelming terror that can break us
But when we really start looking at both of these phrases, they say very much the same thing. Because as we study, we’ll realize that if we fear God, we have nothing else to fear.
The Bible talks a lot about each (God knows how important this is)! So as we look at places where each phrase is mentioned, we’ll write either the verse or what stood out from that passage, think through it together, then connect it with another passage of the Bible to see it as a whole.

Studying through this takes us through the main 20 days of study. As in every everseeking journal, the “main study” can be done in 20 days because we all have those moments where we get behind, so this gives a little room.
But if you’re studying every day and get to day 20 and you still have 10 more days in the month, there are 10 extra pages of the journal (called “optional pages”) that take a deeper look at what we already studied.
In this journal… What does fearing him and not fearing other things look like? God tells us and shows us! Several times Scripture mentions people who feared God and how God had to remind them not to be afraid, no matter what century or circumstance they were in. Answer a question about this person/people and then about the fear of God/no fear in your life!
So whether you complete the main study with the 20 pages or the main 20 + the optional 10, you have succeeded in spending the month studying the Word of God!
The washi tape
As always, every everseeking journal comes with it’s set of washi tape: solid and patterned!
This month’s washi tape matches the pasture theme this month and a similar solid color washi tape! We use these for highlighting certain thoughts, creating tabs throughout the journal, decorating, adding extra notes (scrapbooking style), color coding, and more! Sticky tab booklet
Extras with the August journal
This month was a fun and different extra - a little booklet of sticky tabs!
These come in a cute little booklet that allow for notes and designating categories for each color sticky note. With a set of 10 for each color, it allows for marking different thoughts and themes within the journal (or in your Bible!)
Homeschool edition
We also have everseeking for homeschool!
The homeschool edition sends out the same journal of the month for the girl to study through. With the 20 days of the main study, she gets to also go through one page a day for each weekday for the 4 weeks of the month.
The difference with the homeschool edition is that instead of the extras, the girl receives three pages…
Pacing guide: this takes the 20 days and schedules them in the specific month of study (in this case, August 2026). Here, she can check off each day as she completes it.
Discussion questions: after the girl has completed her study page for the day, there is an extra discussion question that matches (for example, discussion question number 4 goes with day 04 of the study). This is intended to help the girl explain what she has studied and for the teacher and girl to further discuss what the study of God’s Word means in her life.
Knowing Scripture/ end-of-month / encouragement: every month, the knowing Scripture section remains the same, but reminds the girl to keep a part of the study deep on her heart. She selects her theme verse for the study and writes it on the pacing guide to look at daily and then talk about it with the teacher throughout the month. The end of month section has an activity or assignment that helps the girl think through the study as a whole from a specific perspective as a review. And finally, the encouragement is for the teacher, to bolster her as she guides the girl in her care in God’s Word — making an eternal difference in her life!
