Immanuel. God with us. Jesus lived up to that name in every way possible. He humbled himself to not only die for us but to interact with us daily as a limited human being. And yet he was the Son of God and the Messiah. He was long-awaited but he didn’t set up headquarters and listen to requests. He traveled to meet his people. He listened to them, healed them, and taught them. None of them knew the fullness of who was before them and they didn’t know the extent of his love for them in his upcoming death. But we know. And we know that as much as Jesus loved these, he loves us just as much. He is still listening to us, healing us, and teaching us. So as we look at these people who encountered Jesus, we get to know this Jesus is our Savior, too.
