June journal “unboxing”

This is the “unboxing” of the May mailer with the June journal, “Gracious words”!

Words have power. Whether we intend for them to be powerful or not, they can last in someone’s mind and heart until the day they die. We know it’s true because most of us still carry words said to us – intentional or not, good or bad – from so long ago.

So knowing that and as followers of God, we should want to train and learn in God lest it be said with our mouths we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God (James 3:9).

We want to speak words that are gracious, patient, gentle, bridled, good, right and true so we can build each other up instead of tearing each other down with evil. Thankfully, our words are not our own.

We don’t have it in us to always speak good – but God does. And he makes it possible if we are listening to his good words: “Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly” (Psalm 85:8).

When we spend time listening to the peace God has spoken to us, it changes our words from being careless and destructive to ones that reflect our Creator with the tongue he gave us.

This is what our everseeking subscribers are studying in June 2026! So let’s take a closer look at everything in the study and the mailer…

The journal

There are times when we stand before God and feel totally inadequate to speak the right words - just like Moses.

But God’s answer to us is the same: “Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?” (Exodus 4:11)

And his answer to Paul carries true to us today, too: “ But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

We know all too well that if it were solely up to us, we would not be sharing kind and gracious words with those around us.

But God made our mouths. And he has given us his infinite power, made strong in spite of our weaknesses.

Example of the main study pages in “Gracious words”

For those who knew who we were without God, the power of God can be evident by his words we now speak (like Saul/Paul). What a testimony to the grace of God!

And for those who are strangers to us, one gracious word can be used by God to do his will, even if we don’t know it.

We just have to be willing to say what is good and right.

It comes from a heart centered on his gracious words and a mind disciplined to carry those words from our heart to our speech.

Sometimes it seems impossible. But God always makes it possible.

God gives us the gift of gracious words. So let’s see how we can share that gift with those around us.

Journaling through a main study page in “

Proverbs 16:24: Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.

It’s safe to say all of us struggle or have struggled with our words – ones we regret and ones we hope will leave a lasting impression of Christ. But our words start with gracious thoughts and lead to gracious actions. So we’ll start our study in looking at these and think through one or the other each day thereafter.

On each page, we’ll look at different kinds of gracious words: ones that are gentle, patient, bridled, good... Words that reflect the words that God has shared with us. We’ll think through 1-2 passages, write how we can show these words in our lives, and pull it together with a note and our gracious thought/action connection verse.

Example of the optional study pages in “Gracious words”

Studying through this takes us through the main 20 days of study. As in every everseeking journal, the “main study” can be done in 20 days because we all have those moments where we get behind, so this gives a little room.

But if you’re studying every day and get to day 20 and you still have 10 more days in the month, there are 10 extra pages of the journal (called “optional pages”) that take a deeper look at what we already studied.

In this journal… It always helps to have an example of good and godly words, especially in the context of different situations as they may be ones we find ourselves in. So in the connection pages, we’ll look at examples of good words in all situations along with passages that show us our ultimate reason that we want to share gracious words.

So whether you complete the main study with the 20 pages or the main 20 + the optional 10, you have succeeded in spending the month studying the Word of God!

The washi tape

As always, every everseeking journal comes with it’s set of washi tape: solid and patterned!

This month’s washi tape matches the honey theme this month and a similar solid color washi tape! We use these for highlighting certain thoughts, creating tabs throughout the journal, decorating, adding extra notes (scrapbooking style), color coding, and more! For more details, check out our “How to use washi tape for Bible journaling” blog at https://www.evergreencypress.com/blog/how-to-use-washi-tape-for-bible-journaling.

Set of three encouragement postcards

Extras with the June journal

Alongside our June journal talking about “Gracious words” are extras that help us put our gracious words into action!

Each encouragement postcard is designed to help share good words! “Thankful for you” to remind others that we are thankful for them, “just a little hello” to reach out to others, and “stay strong, friend” to let them know they’re not alone!

We loved sharing these extra so subscribers could in turn share good words with those around them - whether giving them in person or sending them in the mail (yes, snail mail)!

Homeschool edition

We also have everseeking for homeschool!

The homeschool edition sends out the same journal of the month for the girl to study through. With the 20 days of the main study, she gets to also go through one page a day for each weekday for the 4 weeks of the month.

The difference with the homeschool edition is that instead of the extras, the girl receives three pages…

  1. Pacing guide: this takes the 20 days and schedules them in the specific month of study (in this case, June 2026). Here, she can check off each day as she completes it.

  2. Discussion questions: after the girl has completed her study page for the day, there is an extra discussion question that matches (for example, discussion question number 4 goes with day 04 of the study). This is intended to help the girl explain what she has studied and for the teacher and girl to further discuss what the study of God’s Word means in her life.

  3. Knowing Scripture/ end-of-month / encouragement: every month, the knowing Scripture section remains the same, but reminds the girl to keep a part of the study deep on her heart. She selects her theme verse for the study and writes it on the pacing guide to look at daily and then talk about it with the teacher throughout the month. The end of month section has an activity or assignment that helps the girl think through the study as a whole from a specific perspective as a review. And finally, the encouragement is for the teacher, to bolster her as she guides the girl in her care in God’s Word — making an eternal difference in her life!

And that’s a wrap!

And that’s a wrap for the June journal that came in the May mailer! We loved putting this one together for our subscribers.
