May journal “unboxing”

This is the “unboxing” of the April mailer with the May journal, “The un-intimidating Proverbs 31 Woman”!

We are very specifically made. God made us as women and in His image.

And the devil knows it - so he tries to twist it.

He encourages the world to make womanhood look like something it’s not, something that’s our right and our expression of identity in ourselves rather than in our Creator. He makes us think living for anyone other than ourselves is exhausting, not worth it, and degrading to who we should be.

But he lies.

Our value can’t come from us. And what fills us seems backwards to the world. For when we live as God has created us to, we are radiant and we are unstoppable, not because of ourselves, but because of our loving Creator.

For He is even more relentless than the devil.
He is tirelessly with us in each moment, reminding us that we are His.
He knows our worth because He made us.

With Him, we can live a vibrant life and are able to do extraordinary things as God works through us and all those who come to Him.

This is the Proverbs 31 woman. It’s not about her. It’s about God in her. And it’s breathtaking.

This is what our everseeking subscribers are studying in May 2026! So let’s take a closer look at everything in the study and the mailer…

The journal

When we look at the woman in Proverbs 31, most of the time we look away.

Because we can’t be her.

We know ourselves and it’s impossible for us to fulfill all of these things. And that’s the truth.

But this isn’t about a good woman. This is about a woman who fears the Lord.

These characteristics are not a description of the woman of her own merits. It is the characteristics of God that the woman who follows Him is reflecting in her life.

We are merely the vessel through which God shines. Let no one think it’s of our own doing. And we would be remiss to think of the Proverbs 31 woman in the same way.

Example of the main study pages in “As warriors of God”

The fact is God created woman. He made us and knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows there are times when we feel like we can take on the world (don't underestimate us!) and that there are other times that we feel inadequate and overwhelmed (don't give us more to do!).

But in whichever scenario we find ourselves in or anything in between, the answer is the same: we rely on God to resemble anything like the woman in Proverbs 31. She did. And so do we.

Even more so is this: we have the advantage of another layer - the image of Christ. It almost means more to us because these things all fit in with what the New Testament calls us to as disciples of Christ.

So let’s look at the un-intimidating woman of Proverbs 31... because she is us WITH the almighty power of our fearful and wonderful God.

Journaling through a main study page in “

Most of the time we study this chapter as a list and without context. And both can lead to overwhelm instead of reassurance. What’s important to remember is that within each action that the woman is taking, there are two reasons for what she does: she fears God (v. 30) and she seeks to do good by her husband all the days of her life (v. 12), whether he is with her or not*. It’s an honor of our vows and what that looks like in daily life: eternally (Colossians 3:1-4) and as a representation of that relationship on earth (Ephesians 5:22-33).

Context: Day 01-03 Before we start studying the main portion of Proverbs 31, it’s important to know the setting, who was talking and to whom.

Details: Day 04-20 Each day looks at a verse or two from the rest of Proverbs 31 along with a connection passage to see more of what this looks like in our lives, questions for both, two notes section, and a takeaway question!

*Some of us know and enjoy a godly marriage and some of us don’t have that (yet or anymore, if at all). This is a portrait of good marriage that the Creator gives us, precious in the midst of the world’s rhetoric. But no matter our situation, our aim should remain the same: committing to act and to live like Christ as we are led by God in his Word – as a woman who fears God.

Example of the optional study pages in “The un-intimidating Proverbs 31 woman”

Studying through this takes us through the main 20 days of study. As in every everseeking journal, the “main study” can be done in 20 days because we all have those moments where we get behind, so this gives a little room.

But if you’re studying every day and get to day 20 and you still have 10 more days in the month, there are 10 extra pages of the journal (called “optional pages”) that take a deeper look at what we already studied.

In this journal… Then we go a little bit deeper into thinking about these characteristics – not ours, but God’s in us. We see first how we can show these characteristics (what it looks like in our lives as followers of God) and how it is a reflection of the essence of God. And at the bottom of the page, lest we forget, is a connection of how we would be just the opposite of these characteristics if it weren’t for God.

So whether you complete the main study with the 20 pages or the main 20 + the optional 10, you have succeeded in spending the month studying the Word of God!

The washi tape

As always, every everseeking journal comes with it’s set of washi tape: solid and patterned!

This month’s washi tape matches the floral theme this month and a similar solid color washi tape! We use these for highlighting certain thoughts, creating tabs throughout the journal, decorating, adding extra notes (scrapbooking style), color coding, and more! For more details, check out our “How to use washi tape for Bible journaling” blog at https://www.evergreencypress.com/blog/how-to-use-washi-tape-for-bible-journaling.

Luxury mini pocket notebook

Paired with our May journal this month is the perfect note-taking companion: this little luxury notebook. Whether it came in the green, pink, or cream color, each notebook has a soft cover with a gold foil print floral note design on the outside to match our May aesthetic. Then inside are lined pages to hold any notes (to-do lists, jotting down thoughts, prayer journal, travel journal, and so much more) as well as a little pocket in the back!

Homeschool edition

We also have everseeking for homeschool!

The homeschool edition sends out the same journal of the month for the girl to study through. With the 20 days of the main study, she gets to also go through one page a day for each weekday for the 4 weeks of the month.

The difference with the homeschool edition is that instead of the extras, the girl receives three pages…

  1. Pacing guide: this takes the 20 days and schedules them in the specific month of study (in this case, May 2026). Here, she can check off each day as she completes it.

  2. Discussion questions: after the girl has completed her study page for the day, there is an extra discussion question that matches (for example, discussion question number 4 goes with day 04 of the study). This is intended to help the girl explain what she has studied and for the teacher and girl to further discuss what the study of God’s Word means in her life.

  3. Knowing Scripture/ end-of-month / encouragement: every month, the knowing Scripture section remains the same, but reminds the girl to keep a part of the study deep on her heart. She selects her theme verse for the study and writes it on the pacing guide to look at daily and then talk about it with the teacher throughout the month. The end of month section has an activity or assignment that helps the girl think through the study as a whole from a specific perspective as a review. And finally, the encouragement is for the teacher, to bolster her as she guides the girl in her care in God’s Word — making an eternal difference in her life!
